Woven and Wild

$3,500.00

This piece is about surrender—letting go of the expectations we’ve carried with us and learning more about who we are becoming. The gold veining isn’t about breaking but about transformation, marking the beauty in imperfection. The Japanese art of kintsugi, is where broken pottery is repaired with gold, treating the breakage as part of the object's history rather than something to disguise. Transformation and grace are often most visible through what breaks us. The collage on the left, mimics masonry, and holds the weight of home, and of foundation. The collage at her throat speaks of a bird being set free—a tether loosened; a voice unbound. The exhale is here at the moment of surrender, and a fresh breath into what's next.

48 × 48 in. mixed media oil on gallery wrapped canvas.
